I picked up a rooster today that was being bullied by the other roosters in his original flock. I didn't have a rooster before now. My concern is his comb and waddles have wounds on them and he's been bleeding. Should I put medicine on it or let it heal on its own and if so what kind? I didn't see any major wounds but don't want to do nothing if I should do something. Also it's cold where I am (30's or below) should I clean the blood from his feathers?

I would just let him be. It should heal if they're only superficial wounds. If it will make you feel better by cleaning them then go ahead. He seems like he's fine (no drooping head or closed eyes) and he's also eating which is a good sign that he's not in pain. I doubt an infection will start but if it does than clean it out with salty water and you can put some manuka honey on it. Always works with my animals wounds. The honey promotes new cell growth quite quickly. Good Luck!

Although it is disturbing to see the blood there is usually no real problems from a torn comb. A rooster's comb has a lot of blood vessels inside it and any small cut will produce copious amounts of blood. The blood should dry up and disappear in a few days and you will be left with a beautiful white rooster.
I always have 6 to 10 roosters here at any given time so I have seen this a lot. You did good to rescue him!

Thanks guys. I looked through his features and didn't see any major wounds. Just superficial. Do I need to do anything different with a rooster than I do with the hens?
