Rescued a Hen Today :)

My neighbors had a hen that all the others were picking on and the poor thing was bleeding and scabby. They said we should come get her because she was not doing well there. We came over and found it hiding in the coop, while all the other chickens were outside of the coop. She was a bald little thing. We caught her and we were told that more than once she flew up and grabbed the chain link fence just to get away from the other chickens! Now she is in MY backyard with my other chickens and my baby chicks as well. Things have been going pretty well so far.

We named her Pip

Thank you! Although I am a little worried because she has been hiding in the coop and I am worried were will she sleep and if she will ever come out to eat and drink. I hope she will warm up a little to the other chickens soon

Nice story! Thank you for saving her. Poor thing! Give her lots of cuddles and attention, she'll get better. I once had a lovely little hen that got picked on so bad. I made a point of giving her attention and the rest of the flock backed off. She just bloomed after that.

Its has been an amazing recovery! She has been healing very fast and is now following us around for treats and letting us pick her up, she really is a sweety. She went from bein in the coop 24/7, to hiding behind it, to just hanging out in plain sight!

The other chickens have been getting nicer and getting used to her. I WILL HAVE TO POST PICS SOON!
