Rescued a SLW from the feed store - Need help though!

Thanks! I have 2 chicks that look exactly like that and I was wondering what kind they were.

She's been drinking a bit of the sugar water. She takes a drink and then falls asleep. I keep taking her back to the kitchen and making sure she drinks some. She has also had a couple crumbles of food. She is perking up some, but still weak. Here is a picture of her resting on my chest. She's a bit spoiled already

Poor little chick. Sometimes the ones underneath the rest do get squished and don't survive, although they sure put up a fight. We lost two that way already this chick season. Keep her warm and be sure to eyedrop or syringe water with either sugar or Polyvisol into her, and check her strength. She might start out wobbly (like she's drunk), then not be able to walk at all, then not eat at all. If she's able to stand or doing better, keep her in a properly heated brooder with easy access to water to see if she can drink on her own. Offer Gro Gel if you have it; if you don't, grind up some chick starter and offer it as a powder or with warm water as a mash. Keep us posted, and good luck!

It looks to me like it could be spraddle leg, as well. You can work to treat it with a band aid. There are several threads about it. I'd find them for you, but I'm lazy, lol.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! She isn't doing very well at all. I picked up so Poly-Vi-Sol (without Iron) when I picked the kids up from school. I gave her 2 small drops and had her drink a little bit of water. About 45 minutes later I had her drink a bit more water and she spit everything back up

I have her under the brooder lamp right now. I just got in from feeding all the animals outside so now it's time for some one on one with her. I really don't think she is going to make it through the night.
