We rescued a turkey last night from a bad situation. No food, protection, or companionship. She was found wandering the hills of northern West Virginia. I have no experience with turkeys and the library book I found only tells me how to raise them for food. She is missing feathers on her neck and chest/belly. Her feet are very swollen also. I am told the feathers are stress related. What about the feet? Is there anything we can do for that?
She is a sweetie, eats out of our hands. She is in a small pen in our sheep/goat enclosure... the sheep were very curious and made her nervous. I do not know how old she is or even what kind. She did lay an egg for the lady that found her!
Any help is appreciated. If she heals, I will need to find her a friend.
Trying the picture thing.... not sure if it will work.
