Rescued abandoned chickens. HELP!!

Don't mix them with your current flock until you've watched them for a few weeks... if they have any health issues, you don't want to infect your own birds. Also use a pyrethrin type spray to treat the area where they are roosting so the mites don't come back.

Raised scales on chicken's feet do not come with age. I have some hens that must be over 5 years old. They were here when I moved here. They don't have any raised scales on their feet and legs.

Here are a few pics of the newbies getting out of quarantine for the first time. They actually enjoyed getting some scratch on the ice! As you can see, they are smaller compared to the rest of my girls who ran so fast to take part in the treats. haha. I believe they are Bantams ... but I am not sure. What do yall think? Oh and, does clipping their nails hurt?
