We found this chicken last weekend. Someone had abandoned her in a box in a nearby park.

I think she has a cold and am treating her for it. Any recommendations? I’m a new chicken owner and should have quarantined her but didn’t think about it.

Anyways I was wondering does anyone know what breed or how old she is? She hasn’t laid for us but it’s just been a few days and I can tell she isn’t feeling her best.

I could have sworn I uploaded picture but I guess not! Updated now with photos.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I ordered some vet rx and vitamins. I put unfiltered apple cider vinegar in their water. I tried cleaning out her beak with some saline solution. And I gave her a bath. She stunk when we first found her!

Please give me suggestions I am new to this! I love this community though. It’s been so amazing and helpful to have all of you as a resource.

Should I be worried that her comb is so floppy? She’s eating and drinking and she has been exploring with the other chicks but she doesn’t seem to have too much energy.

I wouldn't worry as long as she's eating and drinking, she may have been quite dehydrated when you found her so it may take her a bit to get her strength back. Maybe try adding some Nutridrench to her water and giving them all some scrambled eggs or something? She probably just needs a pick-me-up. A little minced garlic in their water and some yogurt with chopped thyme can help her immune system too.
