Rescued chickens: Breed? Sex? Age?

Hi!
We rescued these 2 chickens from a friend of ours that had to move away. We are not sure what age they are, perhaps 4/5months? And we are unsure of the breeds. He promised us they were both hens, but I have my doubts--mostly because I don't know the age, and I've only raised Orpingtons. The Golden one doesn't have any comb or wattles showing. The black one's are a little more prominent.
Can anyone help?
We'll call the black one Cash
and the golden one Blanche.

Thank you! I was considering Australorp for Cash. I had no clue about Blanche. What gives your the idea that she is a second generation? Very curious
