Researching Before Buying

Yes, the brooder was in a bedroom. Can you believe it? Dropped down from the roof in through the top half of an open window. (We didn't hear anything!) They were between 10 days to two weeks old.

Our new chicks are being shipped today! Keep your fingers crossed.

Are you going to the feed store for the chickies?

This is a great site with really knowledgable bird owners (and others, like me, still learning!

I know that you'll enjoy your birds. Should you (perish the thought!!) decide that chickens (or other egg-bearing fowl) are not your bag, you'll find that they are very easy to re-home. Check out SOCIAL/Where am I? Where are You?--to find other BYCer's that live close to you. For instance, I have a BYC neighbor who is willing to sell me a few replacement birds, and lives closer than the livestock auction.
And, BTW, I do A LOT of "window-shopping" before I buy, too!!
