Noticed rooster with ruffled feathers beak open and nasal area closed with mucus appears to have a cold placed in isolated area with heat lamp and have been adding aureomycin chlortetracycline to the water.

It sounds like the right thing to do!

Make sure you're not keeping him too warm, which you will note by watery poop.

I hope he gets better soon!
