So I have a rooster and hen that I notice that keep shaking there head like there sneezing .. we been having dust storm and crazy rain lately.. could it be they have respiratory sickness? Should I give them antibiotics or what should I give them?

Look for any bubbles/foam in an eye, nasal drainage, or crackles when breathing. Dust and poor ventliation can cause sneezing. An occasional sneeze especially when eating feed, can be normal. If it happens often in the same chicken, especially if they are having head shaking, can be a sign of a respiratory disease. The common ones are infectious bronchitis, MG, and some more severe.

Hmm.. I didn’t see no bubbles it just happen but he did crow different today .. I hope he’s not sick and the hen kind of doing the same but they act normal .. I will keep an eye on them .

The wet weather could affect the rooster’s voice. Let us know how they get along.

I am in a similar boat, I've had a 20 week old hen for a few weeks now sneezing shaking her head a bit. About a week and half ago I also heard gurgling a bit and she sounded the worst. I also noticed another hen started sneezing a bit as well but nowhere as bad. But last week and so far this week it seemed to have really improved. I noticed most of this started around the time I used a lot (Accidently) of DE in the coop and in the boxes. I also used a little stall freshener.

So last Tues I removed all the pine shaving in the coop and cleaned out the nesting boxes. I put down a mix of straw and shavings in coop and straw in boxes and I've noticed a big difference. I've noticed that after time the poo breaks down and creates a really fine powder type dust that I think might be the cause.

Through the entire process she always had energy, ate, and drank so I am hoping its an environmental issue. My run and coop are very very dusty, combined with the the nasty heat & humidity we've had I am thinking its conditions related. If worsens I will seek antibiotics but so far they look happy and healthy.
