So my poor Domino and Pokey seem to be sick. When they bawk it sounds like theyve lost their voices. I didnt hear any heavy wheezing but ive put them on VetRx for now as well as the rest of my flock (only 4 total). Domino got off penicillin "v" some months ago for a bad cutaneous infection she had. I dont know if I should give her antibiotics again this year. I might have to order amoxicillin. I have no vets in my area that does livestock so idk really what to do. Pokeys voice sounds worse than hers so putting her on the antibiotics wont be the worst if I need to do so. Any recommendations? I live in Dekalb Illinois if anyone has suggestions for vets.

Do a search online for avian vet locator, Dekalb Illinois, I get a couple of hits, don't know how close you are to them.
Some vets are restricting bird care due to the avian flu. I recently had to drive 2.5 hours to get an injured osprey to a place that would take it due to quarantine restrictions for the avian flu.
For respiratory infections in general, knowing what it is can be helpful. There are some caused by virus's that you can treat the symptoms but the symptoms can come back during times of stress, they are chronic and not really "cured". Tylan or Tylosin are usually what is used. You can get Tylosin here, it's currently out of stock but says it will be restocked soon:

thank you so much!

What are the symptoms you are seeing when they get sick? Are there bubbles or foam in an eye, swelling of an eyelid, crackles or wheezes, sneeze or cough? Some of the common diseases are infectious bronchitis virus, mycoplasma gallisepticum and coryza, both bacterial infections, and ILT virus. Of course there may be a few others, and mold can cause a chronic disease disease called aspergillosis. Here is a link which gives symptoms of those and others:

Thats whats weird about it. Theres no other symptoms. And no vets in my area want to take them because of the bird flu right now. I dont want to do anything more than the vetrx until i can figure out whats wrong. especially since domino has already taken a course of antibiotics this year. their coop gets cleane out at least once a week. i keep the dust down. and everythings been staying dry so i really have no clue
