My rooster had the gurgles and heavy breathing. I had him on baytril with no results. He is now on his 5th day of tylan and there has not been a hint of improvement. I am not sure what to do. I cannot take him to the vet, because I cannot financially do it.

Haas anyone tried anything that has worked? Should I go a little longer?

How much Tylan are you giving? Do you have his weight? Respiratory diseases can be bacterial, viral, or fungal. Only bacterial diseases may respond to certain antibiotics. MG and coryza are bacterial diseases, but those can be complicated by other diseases or air sacculitis, where air sacs can become involved. Viruses, such as infectious bronchitis and ILT can last weeks and would run their course over time. Fungal disease such as aspergillosis from mold has no cure. Bacterial diseases are chronic and the symptoms can recur.

I was giving him .05 ml, and upped it to .06 today. I dont know his weight exactly but am thinking 6 pounds. He is very difficult to catch and he attacks my husband during mating season. I researched a lot about the sounds he was making and people here were saying baytril or tylan with a gurgling sound.

Are you talking about Tylan50, Tylan200 or Tylosin powder dosage that you are giving at .05?

To treat respiratory symptoms and using Tylan50 you would give .25ml per pound of weight orally 3 times a day. So if this is a 6 pound rooster, the dose is 1.5ml given 3 times a day.
Underdosing may be part of the issue?

Please get a video of what he sounds like. Upload video to youtube and provide a link.
Photos of his face would be good too.

His crop is emptying overnight right?

I agree, it may not be enough Tylan. Let us know if you have the injectable 50 or the 200, or if you are using the powder.
