Respiratory infection

Separation even for a day sometimes makes it difficult to put a hen back with the flock.

She's taking the initiative to attack first instead of being attacked, each hen/rooster has their own way of handling stress.

If you have room, section off an area of coop/run for her to be in so she can interact with the flock instead without engaging.

You can also cage her within the coop/run with her own food/water.

If you had left her with them today, they may have worked it out by morning, hard to know, especially since she was the aggressor. Often it's the opposite and all gang up on a lone hen. If all else fails, put her back, let her chase them down and see if everything calms down after a while.

Was she head hen when you removed her? Just curious - she may just be re-establishing herself to top hen.
Thanks! I will try again tomorrow with just putting her in the area but sectioned off. I honestly don't know, I only have 4 hens and never seen them fight to establish head hen. She's the littlest though and all the same age.

So I am trying again today, I had her separated in the same yard while the other girls ran around and then I switched, I put the other girls in the run and let her out in the yard to roam around and get a feel for it again. They don't seem to really care she's there but she freaks out when the others are not in her site... my other question delima is... when I first brought her in she was near death, not eating or drinking, couldn't stay awake for more then 30 sec at a time very runny awful stools when she went at all, constantly shaking her head and gasping... today she is like a completely different chicken all healthy and normal aside from the occasional head shake and large gasp. Should I still be concerned or will letting her back out be ok? She's tired of being cooped up in my house but I'm worried letting her out too soon will set her back as well as get my others sick... sorry for the long post I'm new and all this has me beyond stressed.

Thanks!

Is her crop emptying?

Can you get a video of her actions - the head shake and gasp?

She had respiratory infection? How did you treat it? What symptoms-mucous, coughing/sneezing, bubbles in the eyes...?

If she's interacting with the flock o.k., no one is getting pinned down and injured, I'd leave her with the flock and just monitor her and the others carefully.

They do much better if they can be with their flock, even if not 100%.

I attached a video, did it come across ok? Her symptoms were slight wheezing, not eating or drinking, wouldn't/ couldn't stay awake, extreamly watery smelly stools, couldnt really move her head to eat, constant gaspingand shaking of the head. I separated her by brining her in the house used vet rx daily first few days multiple times of day, did steam showers, vitamin poultry flushes, syringed water and then fed her eggs ( day 3 when she finally wanted to eat) then a couple days ago switched back to layer feed and treats and greens like I normally would feed them have oyster shells at the ready for her as well.

I tried to attach a video but it doesn't like the format so the best I can do is a picture
