I just came across this thread tonight. I am so sad to hear about the loss of Nugget. We all loved him. What a great character. I hope you will memorialize him in a series of children's books or something. His antics are unmatched! He will be missed.

I am so very sorry about the Nuggetron. His antics will live on and make people smile and laugh out loud for a long time to come. Your wonderful way with words will ensure that.
I haven't been around much the past couple of months and missed this thread completely until tonight. Oh my......... He was my very favorite BYC. You were lucky to be owned by him.

Thank you Maggie! I loved that big red roo! I'm hoping with his Cobalt we'll have little GrandNuggets in the near future. Nugget didn't bother the ladies much but his son sure makes up for him!

Poor Nugget. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. The fainting rooster story was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time, and I'm sure you can see from all of these pages of responses that Nugget had an effect on a lot of people. He was a leader of men...errr... chickens!

I watched Cobalt through the window in the snow and rain today and with his mom's pretty blue feathers and his daddy's pretty red feathers, I'm hoping some of his offspring will look like Nugget. I have people stop and ask where the big red one is, and they always tell stories about how they were driving by and saw that really big red chicken and stopped to watch him.

I'd have stopped to look.. but I wouldn't have gotten out of the car. I'd have been too scared!!
Cobalt is a beaut! I do hope he produces at least one lil nugget. I am thinking, in the spring, if I get a broody, I might put some of Hardy's eggs under her, and see if maybe a BLR grandkid will turn out looking like him. LOL.. can you imagine a banty hatching a nugget egg?
