Awe gosh; I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. So few people know how truly special chickens can be; I'm happy for Dumpling that she had you, and that you held her as she passed. RIP, little Dumpling!

Your tribute has made me verclempt; seriously, my eyes are teary. Thank you so much for sharing the worm info. My hens are free-ranging on 2 acres - I will now take a fecal sample to the vet. Last time I had a questionable poo, it tested negative, but time to check again. Take care.
