I'm having a hard time finding similar threads (that came back to say how it went). My broody has been sitting for about a week but I need to restart her on new eggs (the eggs she has right now ended up having very low fertility so I want to try a different breeder). She will be about 10 days in by the time I can give her the new eggs. Will she sit the extra time until they hatch? It's springtime in MA right now and very cool (nights in the upper 30s and lower 40s, days in the 50s) so she won't overheat. I usually pamper my broodies by bringing them scrambled eggs to the nest to make sure they eat enough (they really enjoy and appreciate it). She has food and water right outside the nest. Is this going to work?
