Got my eggs this AM and they are now resting - about 7 hrs now.
I have them in cardboard egg cartons - closed. Should they be open for ventilation? If so, will it hurt them if I wait another 3 hrs till I get home to open them or should I go do it now?

It won't hurt them at all. They'll be fine.

Ridgerunner posted a link to Texas University's Incubating guide on another thread recently. I always thought that eggs being stored would need some oxygen, but this guide said that if you're going to be storing eggs for any length of time, the best way to maintain hatchability is by storing eggs in sealed airtight bags, to prevent moisture loss from the egg by evaporation, and also to keep the eggs clean. So according to Texas University, and I'd imagine they know their stuff, the eggs don't need much oxygen before they're set.

Yeah. Thanks,
After I posted it occurred to me that they had been double wrapped in bubble wrap for the last 48hrs so...
