The grass got good and ruined last year when we decided to let our ducks hatch their eggs and we were overrun with ducks for a few months while we found homes for them. Now we have just 2 drakes and 7 hens, so no more worries about overpopulation LOL
They do have access to the front and side yard which has grass coverage, but I'd like to restore their main area so they have a more lush environment. Doesn't necessarily need to be grass. Just something green for them to free-range on and get them from having to be in a dirt pit.
What are my best options for re-growing vegetation for them on their side of the yard? I was looking to build a frame with mesh over top that grass can grow through, where they can stand on the frame and eat without trampling the ground beneath it, but I'd like to think there's an easier or better way to go about this. Thank you!
