Hi all!
We have 3 hens... 2 chanteclairs and 1 brahma mix.
Yesterday we got attacked by a fox.... The 2 chants were safe up in the perch but our brahma couldn't get away.... I got there just in time to chase the fox away, before it tore into our sweet girl.
Thing is, I was sure she was dead.... Feathers everywhere... She was lifeless... On her back, feet in the air... Eyes open. I checked on the others who were fine and hiding in the coop... And after a minute or so of looking for the fox's point of entry and locking the other ladies in, I went back inside to gather up a bag to collect her...
When I was inside, I got a phone call I had to take.... 10 minutes later I return out to the run, and she was up and walking around... Disoriented but unscathed!!! No cuts scratches or anything...
Since she has been reluctant to move around much, and pretty antisocial with the others... But she is eating and drinking and walking her perch etc....
My question : WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?!?! Did she faint? Heart attack... .????
