Retired and Raising Chicks

I am retired after 27 years of teaching and my goal was to raise chicks in my backyard. My love came from visiting my birthplace in Kentucky and gathering eggs in my aunt's coop. Many years later, here I am retired with a 1/2 dozen 16 week old Buff Orpington chickens. My husband built a "she shed" with an 8 x 8 run which is not very big, but I have been acting as guard dog while my chickens free range in our fenced in yard for an hour each day. This forum has been my go to source for information on everything chickens!
