Rex Buck With Diarrhea

Hey Y'all! Long time no post, eh?

My standard rex buck hasn't been growing like he should, and he recently has gotten very thin and has developed diarrhea. I raise them in tractors on unsprayed grass.

What do you think could be up? What are the symptoms of cocci in bunnies?

Thank you, Sour. I think the grass may have something to do with it.. I have moved him to a cage

I do feed them pellets, and as for the brand of pellets I use.. I use a kind from a Mennonite store near me, but if i cant get that, i use the TSC kind in a pinch (even though i HATE that brand).

This time of year around here there is even a 'die off' in cottontail rabbits. Some folks have had them necropsied, and results vary from heavy worm infestation to coccidiosis to tularemia. If he were mine, I would treat for coccidiosis just in case. Hopefully bunnylady will provide input.

I'm sorry. It was just an after thought and not very likely unless your yard is over run with wild rabbits. Better safe than sorry. I understand your reaction - reminds me of my oldest grand daughter. I would have made sure to tell her, "Just wash your hands." No reasons. So act like I am 'Pa'.
