I was wondering if any of you had Rheas and if their worthwhile having?

Of course they are, they put on very beautiful mating displays, and the males make cool trumpeting sounds. The only down side is the males get fairly aggressive during breeding season.

During a trip to Rock Springs Texas and surrounding areas, we saw many Rheas in the wild. They roam that rocky landscape all over.

I have kept grey Rheas since 1992 and would not be without them, even the boys I hatched lol at one time they lived with Wallabies, Maras, Llamas, Guanacos, Shetland ponies, Pygmy goats and many smaller poultry. They mix with anything and when adult, won't go in house, what ever the weather, hard frost, snow, blazing heat....only for daily food in open house.
