I need some help about my Rhode Island Red chick it's about a week old and yesterday I noticed it has pasty butt and I removed it but now it won't eat or even drink. What should I do? What is the possible cause and treatment for it? Thank you!

Pasty is caused by the wrong temperature or too many temperature fluctuations. What is the temperature of your brooder and has it been consistent?

If the pasty butt is cleaned, give the chick a drop of Nutri-Drench and put it back with the other chicks. The chick will be more likely to eat and drink if it is not lonely.
