Rhode Island Red hen laying 12 eggs

Tell that to mine!! It took me 3 nights and a day in the crate to break her. And she is hatchery stock.
You never know if a chicken is going to go broody. They don't need eggs to go broody. My current broody, a PBR, would sit in an empty nest gleefully puffing up and screeching at anyone who came near her.
As for the OP's chicken, I would collect the eggs daily and enjoy her. If you really like her, consider building a coop and run for her and get her a couple of friends. There is a lot to that. You don't just toss strange chickens together unless you want a terrible scene.
Welcome to BYC! :frow
lol some are hard headed....

my RIR has gone broody twice this year; first time I let her have 4 eggs (3 hatched), and no more than 2 weeks after she started laying again she went broody again! Had to jail her that time (no room for more chicks) :(
(edited to add this is apropos an earlier comment that RIRs don't normally go broody :hmm)

Ok, so as suggested I have been pulling Lucy’s eggs daily.. however I am concern as she has laid up to 15 eggs!
Everyday she lays an egg.. when will she stop?? I don’t want her to hurt herself by laying so many eggs.. I love eggs.. but dang.. lol

She won't stop.
Many chickens lay every day without taking a day off.
As long as you feed her well she should be fine.
