Hello! Glad to have just joined! We have a question regarding one of our chickens. When we first got her we thought she was a Rhode Island Red like our other hen. As she's matured she's gotten a little lighter and browner (less red) and has developed black flecked markings as well. I've heard that the red comb of New Hampshire Reds often droops down like hers does. We don't know if she is a variation of the Rhode Island Red or whether she is a New Hampshire Red, a Production Red or even a Red Sex Link? Maybe she's a mixed breed. What do you think? BTW her name is Estelle and her Rhode Island Red friend next to her is Roberta. Thanks for your help.

Looks like a mix to me, definitely nothing purebred

Thank you everyone! She is a good layer as you suspected. Lots of beautiful large light to medium brown eggs!
