Rhode Island Red Roo and White Leghorn Hen breeding

Is cross breeding the RIR roo and White Leghorn a good idea and are there any benefits from doing so?

I'm going to be doing some breeding and already have RIR's, Delawares and Barred Rocks for Red and Black sex links, but was wondering about if I were to throw White Leghorns into the mix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
