Rhode Island red Rooster or hen?

Hey guys, I bought 2 sexed female Rhode Island red hens from the feed store about 10 weeks ago. I was feeding them this morning and noticed for a brief second this one did the feeding call like Roosters do when calling his hens when he locates food. She stopped but I started examining them both and I believe this one is a Rooster. She has a slightly brighter red face, and a more pointy tale with some pointy tail feathers, and pointy feathers. She also talks/churps a whole bunch and never seems to be quiet when I'm holding him/her. She's also very nervous while holding her. What you think guys?

Both are pullets. Tails do not indicate sex and hackle feathers are very misleading as they appear pointed in both genders

Hmmm. First chicken's feathers are looking pointy on her neck, and the tail appears curvy, so roosterish... but hard to tell without a full body shot, preferably where it's standing naturally.

That being said, I don't have a lot of experience with this breed, and my buff orpington shows similar neck feathers (she's female for sure).

I totally understand because I'm fairly new to this also. I just noticed one has waddles and one doesn't. They are both the same age too.

Thanks. It is so hard to tell. I've been having chickens for about 3 years and I've watched every video, and read a bunch of articles on this but when it comes to actually sexing them I fail miserably.

I feel like the second one is a pullet, and I think the first one is, too. But, as others have mentioned, if you can get a picture of them both standing, from the side, I think that will help a lot.

I had a dominant girl (not a RIR) that had the swirly neck feathering like the first one has. But get us some more pics of them on their own, and we should be able to figure it out.

I think they are pullets. we had some sexed sapphire gem hens. some started to look roosterish, but they were all hens in the end.
