They can and may molt it out on their next molt. Every once in awhile one of my Pure Rhode Island Reds may get a little white on a feather and I pull it out but I do show my birds at poultry shows. I have never had a female with any white it has always been a male.

This is one of my boys and if you look closely on his side towards the middle, is a little white feather. I pulled it out after I took this picture. He did not grow another white feather on future molts.

I just got my last 3 chics for my group. I now have a total of 8 and that is enough for me. My last three are Rhode Island Reds. looking forward to seeing them as beautiful as all the photos I've seen on here

Ok so he was a nice brown.He is growing saddle feathers and they are veryvdark.
