Yes, a "production" Red is not as high quality, or at least not that beautiful mahoganny color. Here is a production red in molt or with Rooster:

And a red sex link:

I thought the birds feathers were just messed up in the original picture, but they do seem very bright white, so I'm leaning towards sex link too. It would still be half RIR.

I'm not sure if she's a red sex link, or that's just white underfluff from feathers on poor condition. If she really has white feathers on her tips and tail, she's a red sex link. If she's all red, she's a production red.

Agreed. From the angle of the picture, I can't see any white tail feathers and I'm wondering if she's just a Production Red in moult.
