Rhode island reds behavior wiht other chickens

Hello,
I currently have 4 red sexlinks and 3 black sexlinks and 3 Barred plymouth rocks coming all are chicks, I wanna get 2 rhode island reds off of someone I know that has chicks but, he says that the rhode island reds will kill alll the other breeds in the same pen. Could someone please help If not I wanna get them tomorrow.

Are these Roos?? I think I have heard that they can be mean (I think??) but my RIR hen is one of my sweetest and gets along with everbody.

We have just over 200 chicks in our pullet pen right now. There are about 50 each of Black Sex Link, Buff Sex Link, Barred Rock, and Rhode Island Reds. I have not noticed any difference in temperment worth noting in this years pullet flock. Of course we have ample space and more than enough feeder and water spaces for the chicks.

We have 3 RIRs, 3 BRs and 3 BOs hens, all get along great. They were raised together, that may make a difference

We have a total of 34 chickens, 14 or 15 of them are RIR. I find them to be curious and friendly, some are a bit shy. The others are a variety of SLW, BO, and PR. We did get them all together. Out of all my chickens my RIR seem to be on the low end of the pecking order. They aren't being picked on and are not picking on the others. Hope this helps!

I guess I will be the oddball and say that my RIRs are really mean to the other chickens. I have two RIR, one dom and three anconas. THe RIRs are just a little bigger than all the others, plus I have had them for about six months longer (they were here first.)

The reds pick on all the other birds, but not to the point of killing them or drawing blood. They actually gang up on the others, too. So it's usually a two against one fight. They chase the others away from the food and off the nest, too.

But they have been living together in pen for four months probably and they are all managing to live together.

But I wonder if the reds are stressing my anconas out so much that they dont' lay as much. Every time I see one sit on a nest, a red starts bawking at it and makes it run away.

My Rhode Island Red cross hens are very easy-going. And new hens aren't likely to "beat up" the hens that have already been there awhile. And while it's possible, it's not likely that they'll immediately gang up and kill your other chickens. I think the person you talked to was being over-dramatic.

I have 2 RIR's, one EE, and one BR that all live together, for 6 years now. I got them all within a few days of each other. They do just fine. I also have a silkie and a game hen, those two do not go into the pen with them, they will get chased, but they are newcomers, well in Jan they came here. But when they are all out free ranging they do not bother them too much, might chase them off or something, but thats it.

I have two old RIR hens. I've introduced quite a few other chickens to them and they are very accepting. I've never seen them be mean to anyone.
