Something really wants me to be a "Rooster" mom. I keep acquiring them. Maybe I am wrong though. Please help. If one is a rooster I need to exchange it this afternoon. I swapped 2 Easter Egger Roosters for these 2 (Hens??) The fellow said they were both Rhode Island Red Hens...I'm just not comfortable with it though. Do they look like they have lacing? Or is that normal for RIR? The first 2 pics I believe is the hen. The next 3 look a little like a rooster to me but I am new to chickens and I have alot to learn. The last 2 are pics of them together.
They are 3 months old.

OK I was just told that at 12 weeks old a RIR would have a dark red comb and wattle by now. The green tipping around her neck and the little green in her tail feathers just had me thinking rooster, rooster, rooster. And the lacing thing, that's their normal feathering look. Is this correct info???

hatchery quality Female Rhode Island Reds :)

They are supposed to have dark tails, but the hatchery birds usually aren't close to the breed standard. Also, REAL Rhode Island Reds are so dark red that they're almost black. What you have is totally normal for hatchery birds. They will lay lots of nice big brown eggs.
