Rhode Island Reds

You can try what I have done, 1 part wheat and 1 part corn is all they need. It helps to have foraging as an option too.

We make our own feed with non-GMO corn, wheat, oats and milo, kelp and DE. We add a pre-mix and DUA that has all the vitamins and nutrients they need. Our chickens are free-ranging, so they get alot from the pastures as well. Oyster shell for calcium and grit are free choice, and most of the hens eat some oyster shell as they heading into the coop at night. Since they are free ranging, I hardly ever have to fill up the grit unless 'someone' knocks it over.
