We purchased two, two week old rhodebar chicks from a very reputable breeder. We were told they were both female but for my own curiosity, does anyone know where I could see pics of male and female chicks so I can see the difference?

ok, so in order to tell whether or not you have females, you have to remember males sometimes have lighter heads, with a white or yellow spot. Females normally have a darker down color, often with a black or brown spot or stripes on their heads. Females usually get their wing and tail feathers before males.

here is a helpful picture of three ways you can sex your chicks. we tries the head hanging method and it was s accurate it was not even funny!!! here is the link the picture is from: http://www.backyardpoultrymag.com/6-3/determining_sex_in_chicks/#

strangely enough the picture's captions are not correct.
if the chick happens to kick and flap it is actually a male, but if it just sits there then it is a female.

this
chick here is a male because it pulls its feet up. female will just hang limp. here is the website for this method: http://www.fowlvisions.com/?p=509

hope this helps!!!
