Rhubarb and Custard are my two geese. Can anyone tell me why Rhubarb (who is actually a gander) is suddenly staggering about and collapsing. He is 2.

Hi My 2 geese are Rhubarb and Custard. Rhubarb (who is actually a gander) is suddenly staggering about and collapsing. He is 2 years old. can anyone tell me why.

They have wheat, brown bread broken up and lettuce as a treat.

You need to feed them a feed ration for waterfowl, a complete and balanced feed. Wheat bread and lettuce is not adequate at all for their health and well being.

Perhaps they’re malnourished if they fill up on the bread then they don’t eat enough grass and instead of wheat and bread you need to feed them Waterfowl feed or All Flock pellets , my geese eat grass and the Nutrena Nature Wise All Flock pellets and oyster shell on the side in a dish for the females to get their calcium especially during egg laying season . (Late winter and all spring) but yes post in the Geese forum or the emergencies and diseases forum perhaps there is something else going on , if you can take pictures of His poop and post that too
