Richard Ruby and The S.C. Muscovy Duck Rescue

I am in shock! And sooooo excited!!!!

I found SC Muscovy Rescue during a web search looking for some muscovy girls. I got in contact with Richard Ruby who runs the rescue last weekend. He was really great, sent me pics of the ducks to choose from etc. I picked 4 beautiful girls and he had them vetted etc and said I could expect them this weekend.

I had no idea the man would drive them from South Carolina to me, in Maryland, but he is! I got a call from his wife, Nancy, a few minutes ago and he will be here with my 4 new girls by 10a.m. TODAY!!

He won't accept anything from me, no donation, no delivery fee, no vet bill money NOTHING!! He says he is a non profit organization, only wants them to have a good, loving, forever home, and he does it because he loves the muscovy duck. He asked only that I tell my friends about his rescue and stay in touch with him as a reference and so he knows how they are doing.


If any of you are in driving distance of South Carolina ( and I am HOURS away in Southern Maryland) and can give a good home to some rescue muscovies, get in touch with Mr. Ruby.

Congrats!! on the new Scovies and Thanks for the Info on SC Muscovy Rescue. I'd get some fm them but am just too far. Hopefully, others will pick up on this and give homes to those sweet ducks. Don't forget we need PIC's!

Well, of course because I want to go out to the pen and take pics, Mother nature has decided that it has to pour rain!! Ugh! But I do have the pics of a couple of them that he sent to me..

This is Queen.... she's approx. 2 years old...

And this is Charity... she's 2 years old also... and I got two of her 8 month old daughters too... will have to get pics of them when it stops raining..

OMG I love him!!! I got two choco pied hens from him In January . They've lost a bit of weight now that they are off the dog food but they are still sweet little things!

When I saw his snazzy white corvette drive up this morning, I thought, "That can't be him." But lo and behold it was. ( and I wonder how he felt about my 1/2 mile long muddy, pot hole filled driveway?

) I am so impressed by what this man does I want to cry. I did cry a little.

I still haven't been able to get pics of the girls. It's still raining here in Maryland.

But I am in love with them already. They want out so bad, and my Big Boy is so excited to have some more wives.

And Goat Walker... I had no idea you were you were a teenager either.
