I would love 2 pretty chocolate pied girls! WHINNNNE!!! whimper, whimper.

I just told DH that this guy, Richard Ruby, drove a snazzy white corvette & he said, "Ahhhh, ha! delivering Scovies is his excuse to get out and drive his corvette."

A guy would know!

lol, yeah people are a little shocked when they meet up for duck exchanges because of my age, I love the reactions though! I almost had to force a couple bills in his hand to pay for gas at least , he is just such a cool guy!

And whats funny is at first when he drove up I thought since he was in a corvette that he came to look at my dad's three that were in the yard! lol

Here's a couple of pics of the 4 girls in their temporary pen. It's such a pretty day today and they want out with the other ducks. I keep telling them to be patient, it won't be long.

They've made themselves right at home and really enjoyed their treats last night.

I forgot to mention to you Muscovy lovers that when Mr. Ruby was here, I asked him what he thought about the new Muscovy regulations coming on the 31st. He looked at me and smiled and said, "I've already hired a lawyer!"
lol.png
Go Mr. Ruby!!! You rock!

Cant wait for some pictures of your girls with the flock! I know when I got mine they were a little iffy at first but now they practically run the place

I THOUGHT YOU WERE OLDER AS WELL, when I contacted you a week or so ago about the new law coming into affect....I just figured you were older because your are SO KNOWLEDGEABLE about the ducks, and your posting # is high. I guess it goes to show, you can't take anything for granted.

I took a bunch yesterday and will post a few when I'm on the desktop. I opened the pen yesterday a.m. and they slowly came out. My big dumb Appleyard Cross (Apple) decided to try jump on one immediately and all 4 of them kicked his butt and ran him off.

Those feisty girls can take care of themselves that's for sure. After I realized that, I moved back, sat on the porch and just watched. My male Muscovy was very well behaved. He was showing off a lot and looking all proud but never acted dumb. And he throws a fit now whenever Apple tries to get near them and he runs him off too.

By then end of the evening it was like they've always been here, they took over the creek (and LOVED IT!) and came right to their pen at dark with the rest of the ducks. I'm gonna give them awhile longer before I pen them all up together in the big pen, but today went great!

But poor Apple. He's on the outs again.

He's young and just doesn't know how to be a gentleman yet.

I think these feisty scovy girls are gonna teach him.

Keeper, wish you were closer.... I have a chocolate pied girl (pretty sure that she's a girl) in Choco's clutch that is a little doll

Maybe we can co-own her like a dog until she can come live with you?!? LOL!! PM me if you want to get creative. Can't see why you couldn't co-own a duck before the regulation hits (still grandfathered in) & she just lives at another address?!? We do it with our AKC Dachshunds to retain genetics we want to continue in our lines, but then the dog gets a loving Forever Family where someone can dote on them like they deserve.

Goat_Walker, Keep up the learning & the mystery

That's pretty AWESOME!! I love it when it's kids teaching the adults even though learning should be ageless. Some adults won't listen to you (as I am sure you have run across) because of your age, but eventually that will be behind you. Silly, but true!!
