RidgeHollow Horse Stable

( I have no earthly idea where my humans and the horses they're riding are, so I'll just time-skip. If that is not allowed, my apologies. )

Lauren tapped her crop against her leg as she walked the jump course, Aristocrat in tow. The chestnut gelding chose to nuzzle Lauren affectionately, instead of let her concentrate on the number of strides it would take to get to each jump.

Lauren turned around, looking into Aristocrat's brown eyes. "I appreciate it, buddy," she said, "but I need to figure this thing out."

Giving Aristocrat a hearty pat, she turned back around to examine the fences.

Aristocrat snorted and dropped his head, blowing softly at the dirt below him.

Marian watched the wild Mustangs and their handlers from the mares and geldings barn, velvet-covered helmet in hand. Swinging it slowly, she twirled her blond hair around the other finger.

It's possible, she thought, trying her best to be optimistic.

Yeah, you're a good rider. When Lexi asked you to ride Dancer, that was proof.

I don't know.

Shaking her head as if to rid the jumble of thoughts from her brain, she looked behind her. She had a strange feeling she was being watched. Maybe that was just nerves. Marian didn't know.

Rebel galloped in circles around a dusty clearing, his black tail streaming behind him. The stallion bucked happily, whinnying his joy for all to hear.

Dakota leaned against a tree, flicking her light brown braid repeatedly, making her tan Stetson tip over her forehead . She watched the bay paint, traces of a small smile evident on her lips.
