I've dealt with them many years off and on. after this year's dealings with them I am not surprised to read negative comments and must add this years bad experiences and pile of horse crap they have been expecting me to believe..
we have a small store and order birds for our customers..
I have been over charged on my debit card 6 times this year. can NOT get an explanation nor refund. I finally had to draw that account to nil and open another account. in addition to not receiving some birds owed from last year they were just going to replace.
we've been shorted birds most every time by count
sent wrong birds and charged saying I ordered them. I keep detailed notes on my orders they say they checked the phone record? if they recorded phone conversations saying they checked them. well - that is illegal if they did/do. which further fuels my unhappy doubts about the place
they have sent unordered birds while they grabbed $ out of my account yet to be returned. I agreed to keep them at a negotiated lower price and part of them to make up dead or shorted birds as one way to get the shorted birds. this - after they just said return them which would equal DEAD birds since they didn't care about the birds lives. we scrambled to buy extra heat lamps and borrow things to take care of the birds and save their lives since we are not setup for several hundred birds at once. we space our orders accordingly to find Ridgeway just send them when they feel like.
Yet - still no accounting on that while they grab more money and NOT ship birds
have gotten the ""POOR HATCH"" line about 6 time while awaiting birds for 6 weeks past order date in the mean time making us look bad to our customers.
still NO refund and calling or writing does not good. that person is busy - out of town - gone - won't return a call nor email and apparently ignores messages from the person I do get on the phone.
the birds have mostly been healthy but after 40 years in the poultry feed store biz I have my serious doubts about the purity of ducks ordered..
so with deep regrets I now will tell everyone to avoid ridgeway and keep your money in your pocket - this after decades of recommending them and many thousands of birds from them........
Dean and Mickey still run the place but need to retire???
