Ridgway Hatchery in OH

Does anyone have experience with Ridgway Hatchery in LaRue, OH?

Several of the folks in central Ohio say they always get their chicks from there. Ridgeway is pretty close to where you are, so you could just drive over there to pick up an order, and save on shipping costs. That's handy! Ridgeway has a 6 chick min. if you pick them up, so you don't even have to order a full 25 if you want just a few. They don't have as big a variety as Meyer, which is further up 71. But, if Ridgeway has the type of birds you want, I think they are a good choice.

How far up on 71 is Meyer?
Is it located right off 71?
I didn't realize they were that "close" I think it'd be a feasible drive for a road trip for us.

Meyer is in Polk, Ohio, North of Mansfield. just barely off of I-71. ("Up" for me means North.) So, from Eaton, I don't know, it may be 3 hrs away? Pick up is always on Tuesday, so you'd have to have a family member free from work on a week day to drive. But if you did, you could make a day trip out of it. Handy if you wanted started pullets...but you'd have to check on price of shipping vs. price of gas to see if it was worth your while for a batch of chicks. It -is- for us, but we're only 1 hr. away. Oh, and Meyer has a 3 chick minimum order for pick-up

I think Ridgeway is significantly closer to you in Eaton.
