so, my friend went to the feed store and picked up some feed for me today. i thought chickens were supposed to stay on grower/developer until they started laying. the bag of organic feed she dropped off says, 'for pullets 6-12 weeks'. i'm confused! are my girls and two possible dudes going to get what they need from this grower feed or do i need to make a trip back to the feed store. i don't think they carry an organic developer. i thought feeding chickens would be simple! oy vey!

If its a grower feed and not a layer you can use it. The protein may be higher than what that feed company recommends for the 12 to laying pullets, but not everyone feeds the same.

Should be ok as long as it's not a layer like Den said. Purina recommends keeping layers on the starter till they start laying or 18 weeks. Meat birds on the grower from the start.
