? right index - how long are eggs fertile

I have read multiple posts and it seems like some people are saying that eggs stay fertile for weeks. My rooster just went missing last night and so today I let my broody sit on 3 eggs and am assuming these are fertile - is it my understanding that I may have fertile eggs for several weeks despite no roo

you will have fertile eggs for at least a week depending on how many hens you have.

At least a week. Possibly 3 or 4. Usually when you want to make sure a hen isn't laying eggs from a certain roo anymore you wait a minimum of 3 and preferably 4 weeks.
