No activity on the double yolker but the rest have piped or hatched.

Well.. its day 20! I had nightmares all night about trying (and failing) to hatch chicks with my own body heat because I didnt have anything else. Then I woke up and thought the morning birds were chicks creeping from the basement. so I think its safe to say I'm a little wound tight waiting, and very excited.

I had a nightmare last night that I dropped the lid of the incubator and smashed all the eggs

I was quite relieved when I woke up!

I was quite relieved when I woke up!

I also dreamed I tripped and sat on the incubator, crushing everything. To make it worse I then I had to pay for it to the people we borrowed it from.
When I woke from that one at the end of the night I was so exasperated at the nightmares that I let out an explosive sigh and woke hubby. He wasnt happy.

I thought i heard peeping, so I tried to move the Styrofoam and peak through the clear plastic on the bottom just now and sent them all tumbling.
Hopefully they will be ok anyway.

I've never hatched, but when I have baby chicks in the house, I constantly dream that they get out of their brooder and into my bed (through 2 closed doors)! I wake up yelling at my husband, "DON'T MOVE! YOU'LL CRUSH THEM!" The poor guy.

Chicken sleep terrors, man.

I decided that since I had already tumbled them I would try to carefully remove the Styrofoam... we have a pip!!!

They'll be fine. Eggs get knocked around quite a bit when other chicks hatch. Early in development is when you have to worry when the veins and such are still fragile.

I can definitely hear peeping though!!!

They can hear you as well. I like to sing and talk to them. They will definitely recognize your voice and you at hatch!
