Ring Tail attack

At 2 pounds, that would make them about the size of a mink. In that case, you may want to try a mink box style trap with body grip kill trap in it. At least a 110 and maybe 120 size. Put the box in a location where they may see it as an entry point into the coop.

Well, if it is described as a cross between a weasel and a coon, it is no friend to chickens that is for sure. It probably kills a lot of things. Mice, rats, Good competent carpentry, and hardware cloth are your best defenses if it is a night attacker.... from Wikipedia..."Ringtails mate in the spring. The gestation period is 45–50 days, during which the male will procure food for the female. There will be 2–4 cubs in a litter. The cubs open their eyes after a month, and will hunt for themselves after four months. They reach sexual maturity at ten months. The ringtail's lifespan in the wild is about seven years".. It also said they are the most carnivorous of their type...and ordinarily solitary.
