Ringneck and Red Goldens

I have some young pheasants, all hatched early/mid 2009. There are 2 Red Golden males and 5 females. I also have a Chinese Ringneck male and 3 females. They are all in a large pen now, and they all get along well. When should I separate them, I'm assuming before breeding season, and can the 2 male RG's stay in the same pen with RG 5 females? This is my first time having pheasants, and I've read that during breeding season, males of other species will kill or try to kill one another?

The red goldens will be fine,but keep an eye on them.The ringnecks you will have to seperate from the goldens.Put a barrier in between them if you plan on puttine them beside each other,so the males can not see each other.You should seperate them now they are starting to pair up.

My experience with goldens without barriers is the male is always trying to get to whoever is in the next pen and he doesn't seem to bother with the hens in his pen.

That's been my experience too Tony, but they were always next to other ruffed breeds. never bothered with the ringnecks. But seems like they are always looking at any male??
