Does anyone know the possible out comes of breeding a regular ringneck to a Melanistic? I’m not a fan of mix breeding I keep all my goldens,Reeves and Amherst in separate pens but I’m curious what comes out of said ringnecks. Any info is much appreciated

They will have various degrees of melanistic phenotype. The genes that determine Melanistic's are dominate over a Common Ring necked bird genes. Melanistic's are just a natural color mutation of a common ring necked pheasant.
Some will have a well defined collar, some will have a thin collar, some may have a few white feathers in the collar and others may not have a collar at all.
The flank feathers will sometimes be more like a ring necked, orangey rust color. Iris color will range from clear yellow to a orange color. Hens will have dark brown irises. In all cases, they 'look' melaniatic in phenotype.

Another cross, notice the very few white collar feathers.
