I recently got a little ringneck dove named Olive! She’s about 5 months old now. She’s molting and we’ve noticed some voice changes. I recently noticed her nails getting long. I read online that they may need nail trims. She has wood perches, but they might not be trimming down her nails enough. I’ll attach a recent picture of her nails. Let me know what you all recommend for her nails.

Also, what do you guys feed your ringneck doves? I got a dove mix form petco, but it’s mostly seeds. It has some peas in it, but she’s unable to eat those since they’re too big for her.

Any and all ringneck dove advise would be appreciated!

For my dove, I normally keep a brick for him to stand on. That helps with keeping his nails shorter. Olive's nails don't look "too long" to me, but if you want you can trim them. My dove hates when I try to trim them so not sure how yours will react(?). I recommend getting nail clippers for very small birds, such as finches, I believe you can find them at your local pet store. Be very careful when trimming. You don't want to trim too much otherwise you will hit the vain and she'll start bleeding.

Btw, she is beautiful! I love hearing their voices change!
Here's my dove's nails. Sorry, it's not a very clear photo, but they look about the same.
