To me it appears you have a cock and a hen. I should have read your earlier post, where you said they are 7 to 8 weeks old.hey guys so I am new to owning Ringneck pheasants and I love them I have two of them that I raised from a day old and need help finding out if I got lucky having a male and a female any help is appreciated![]()
At that age the males wattles will start to be more defined, in the first picture, it is a male, the wattles are starting to show. The feathers on the nape of it's neck are also showing the distinct male feather pattern before molting to the colored feathers. The second picture is of a hen.
Around 12 to 14 weeks the males will start getting their colors coming in, usually the breast feathers will have the first appearence of color, followed by the head and rump feathers changing color last. Also, the tail feathers on the male will start coming in at the molt around this time (you'll see the distinct barring) of the male tail feathers. HTH
