Ringneck Pheasants compared to White Pheasants

I don't yet have pheasants but in my experience across every other species I've kept, it's the strain and how the most recent ancestors were kept, fed, handled and socialized that makes it tame, wild, friendly, aloof, aggressive and all the other variations people often attribute solely to breed. I blame the breeder, not the breed: if I've kept an animal type for 5 generations and haven't worked out all the behaviour problems with that family line, it's my fault, I'm doing something wrong. My two cents anyway...
