Colescreek is right, in Australia we do not have platinum also our white mutation is pure white I have 9 pairs and not 1 has buff or brown. As for the book quote not worth reading imo, he is no expert as many would agree.

Meant to ask MC do you run trios in your whites? I wish one day we do have platinum's but not likely in the next few years at least
