My Chickens have red, bumby patches on their backs and one of my friends think its ringworms. I have tried almost everything. Do you have any suggestions, or should i see a vet? thanks for your help

no, i am not able to post a pic.

started with a small red, raised patch with feathers falling out. now its quadrupled in size. the chicken constantley pecks herself nervously or as if she tries to itch/scratch something off the area and all over herself. the other chickens are also starteing to loose feathers as well. the feathers on the head are falling out and the skin is an abnormal color red.

i hope this despription helped!

i also want to ask if you know any vet in western washington that would or near Seattle that would treat a chicken.

Just in case you didn't know, because I certainly didn't until the stuff ran through my daughter's school...ringworm is a misnomer. Ringworm is *not* a worm, it's a fungus...an anti-fungal cure should help it. (it's the same thing as athlete's foot and a few other of those less comfortable fungal things...)
